Botta Events offers meeting, event and private party venues in the Töölö district, close to central Helsinki. This page gathers frequently asked questions about venue hire, organising events with us, and our additional services such as catering, security arrangements and parking.
Are you allowed to bring your own food/drinks?
We provide everything turnkey, including food and drinks. We also have alcohol serving licenses in all our premises. So, no, you cannot bring your own food or beverages.
An exception to this is the wedding cake, which can be ordered from the patisserie of your choice. We charge 2,00 € / person for serving the wedding cake.
What are your booking and cancellation policies?
Booking and cancellation conditions depend on the number of customers. For more detailed terms and conditions, please see here.
What kind of technology do you have?
Our facilities feature modern meeting, lighting and sound technology. All meeting rooms are equipped with high-quality screens and high-speed wi-fi. Learn more about the technology in each venue here.
What is the difference between a sales guarantee and a lease?
We almost always charge based on the sale of products, so when you buy food and drinks for at least the agreed amount, there is no charge for renting the premises.
The sales guarantee is the minimum amount of euros that must be generated from food and drink sales during the event. This amount includes all food and beverages ordered in advance and on-site. If the agreed-upon amount is not met, we will charge the difference under the sales item: Space Rental.
Do I need to use the cloakroom service (coat check)?
Cloakroom service is always agreed upon on a case-by-case basis. As a rule, for events with more than 40 people (excluding the summer season) and during the Christmas period, we require front desk service for all Tuesday through Saturday evening events.
The cloakroom service is not included in meeting and event packages, except for city weddings. The charge can be added to the joint bill, or each guest can pay for the service on arrival.
Do you have security personnel, or do you contract for security services?
For events with cloakroom service, a security service is included in the cloak check fee price until midnight, unless otherwise agreed. If the event continues after 00.00, the stewards will be charged according to a separate price list.
If agreed, we can also arrange security services for smaller events for an additional fee. We can also arrange additional stewards.
Are kids welcome?
Admission for kids depends on the event. In principle, children are welcome, but some stand-up nights and evening events have an age limit of 18 and above.
Do the prices include the applicable VAT?
Yes, all our prices include the applicable VAT.
What is included in the price of the servings?
All our meeting and event packages include the catering specified in the package, serving utensils, table settings, the use of the meeting/event venue for the agreed-upon time, and professional service.
What is included in the table settings?
The settings’ contents vary slightly depending on the package. The necessary utensils are included in all settings. We always ensure that the table setting is both appropriate and elegant for the occasion.
For example, a meeting setting is simpler, while a dinner party table setting typically includes white tablecloths, white cloth napkins, and, if desired, a tealight candle.
Is the venue accessible?
We operate in the Ostrobotnia building, which was built in 1912. Although the premises are not fully accessible in all areas, we do have an example chair lift for more accessibility information here.
Can you stop in front of the main entrance?
There is space for convoys to stop right in front of our main entrance at Museokatu 10, so you can get in and out of your car in the immediate vicinity of our entrance.
Where can I park my car when I arrive at your venue?
We do not offer customer parking, but there are several options available nearby.
Directly in front of the Ostrobotnia building on Museum Street, there are some paid diagonal parking spaces, as well as many paid curbside spaces nearby. Both diagonal parking and curbside parking are popular options, but we cannot guarantee their availability.
The nearest parking garage is Aimo Park Finlandia, located at Karamzininranta 2, from which the nearest walk-out is situated at the corner of Aurorankatu and Museokatu – only a few tens of meters away from our main entrance.
